Brazillian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling, ground fighting, and submission holds. It was developed from traditional Japanese jiu-jitsu and judo, and it gained global prominence through the Gracie family in Brazil during the 20th century.

BJJ emphasizes taking an opponent to the ground and using technique rather than brute strength to control or submit them. This makes it particularly effective for smaller or weaker individuals.

The core philosophy is that a person can defend themselves successfully using leverage, proper technique, and body positioning — not size or power.

Jeet Kune Do

Jeet Kune Do (JKD) is a hybrid martial arts philosophy and system founded by Bruce Lee. Rather than being a fixed style like Karate or Judo, JKD is a flexible, evolving approach to combat that emphasizes efficiency, directness, and simplicity.

Bruce Lee described Jeet Kune Do as "the art of expressing the human body." It’s not about accumulating more techniques, but about stripping away the unnecessary. JKD draws from many sources (e.g., Boxing, Muay Thai, Fencing, Wing Chun, Kung Fu, Judo, and the Filipino Martial Arts), but doesn’t seek to blend them into a rigid system.

“Absorb what is useful, discard what is not, add what is uniquely your own.” – Bruce Lee
